Wool dresses

In the 1880’s German naturalist and hygienist Gustav Jaeger came up with a lot of amusing theories about wool as part of the “healthy dress” movement. He believed that only undyed natural woolen undergarments should be worn against the skin. There were some health fanatics like G.B. Shaw who were early customers for his products, but the general public could not really accept wearing Jaeger’s’ products even if they wanted to…natural wool itches! It’s so warm, but only in the right places. That’s why also wool dresses have soft lining that’s pleasant to skin.
